Paddington trail

“Please look after this bear. Thank you”

Hard to believe, but it’s almost 60 years since marmalade sandwich lover Paddington Bear first arrived in London from Darkest Peru. To celebrate the release of his eponymous movie, a trail of Paddington statues has been laid out at various landmark sites across the city. Celebs and artists have given Paddington’s trademark outfit of duffle coat, wellington boots and hat a radical make-over, creating 50 unique designs.

You can follow the trail until the end of December. The statues will then be auctioned to raise funds for children’s charities.

We managed to find 12 of the Paddingtons during a recent weekend break in the capital.

Prone to magpie tendencies, I enjoy nothing more than musing – in pictures and in words – on a few of my favourite things.

what do you think?
