He’s behind you!

Peter Pan is 50th panto at the King's Theatre, Glasgow
He’s behind you! Oh, no he isn’t! Oh, yes he is…

Panto at the King’s Theatre has been a fixture in the Glasgow countdown to Christmas since 1964. Yesterday, I joined cast members aboard The Tall Ship on the banks of the River Clyde to launch the 50th anniversary production.

Peter Pan stars the brilliant Greg McHugh (AKA Gary Tank Commander) as motley pirate Smee alongside Still Game stalwart Gavin Mitchell as Captain Hook and comedian/presenter Des Clarke as first mate Starkey. Scott Fletcher (River City) is the boy who never grew up, while Joanne McGuinness rocks a nightie in the role of Wendy.

The show runs from Saturday 6 December to Sunday 11 January and promises traditional family fun with “breath-taking special effects, spectacular flying, dazzling costumes and more than a sprinkle of fairy dust.”

Prone to magpie tendencies, I enjoy nothing more than musing – in pictures and in words – on a few of my favourite things.

what do you think?
