Across the river

Passenger ferry crossing the River Blyth in Suffolk

Walberswick is about a 15-mile drive from its immediate neighbour Southwold but just a couple of minutes away if you travel by boat.

Ferrywoman Dani Church is the fifth generation of her family to row passengers back and forth across the mouth of the River Blyth. Tickets for people cost 90 pence.

Dogs travel for free.

Prone to magpie tendencies, I enjoy nothing more than musing – in pictures and in words – on a few of my favourite things.

what do you think?
