Fit for a queen

Queen Elizabeth II is coming to Glasgow tomorrow as part of her Diamond Jubilee tour.

HRH and the Duke of Edinburgh are scheduled for a meet and greet in the city’s George Square. As the boss of me, I’ve kindly given myself the day off work so that I can go and gawp at the royal couple (after all, there’s no one more fanatical about monarchy than a reformed republican).

But what should one wear for such a momentous occasion?

Come rain Let’s face it, summer rarely comes to Glasgow, so it’s bound to be cold and wet. Perhaps this fetching pink sweater featuring Her Majesty’s favourite breed of doggie would be just the thing.

Come shine But then again, it could be an absolute scorcher. In which case, this cute little sundress in a patriotic print might catch her eye.

 Which one gets your vote?

Diamond Jubilee dress dilemmas – an update The morning of the royal visit dawned decidedly humid. To avoid smelling like a damp corgi, I ditched the wool sweater and wore the London print sundress over jeans. Turned out to be a good call – 100% polyester dries super-quick after getting caught in a deluge!

Prone to magpie tendencies, I enjoy nothing more than musing – in pictures and in words – on a few of my favourite things.

what do you think?
