  1. I decided to try and capture the light and colour inside a glass paperweight after reading a short scene in Maggie O’Farrell’s award winning novel ‘The hand that first held mine’. Elina Vilkuna, who is an artist, contemplates the structure of a paperweight as a diversionary tactic to get her through a visit from her meddling mother-in-law. She decides that she would like to photograph it, from very close range. So that’s what I did…
