The Tea Rooms at the Butterfly and the Pig

I have just discovered the delectable Tea Rooms at The Butterfly and the Pig in Glasgow.

Located in a traditional tenement building on Bath Street, the Tea Rooms provide shabby chic and home-baked goods. The afternoon tea arrives on a three-tiered cake stand and is absolutely amazing value. For less than 12 quid, you get a huge pot of tea, a selection of sandwiches, oatcakes with smoked salmon, a scone with jam and cream, and a couple of cakes to finish up. For a treat, upgrade to afternoon tea with Prosecco or champers.

The staff were all lovely and very welcoming, despite the fact that it was Saturday lunchtime and we hadn’t actually booked. They also didn’t hurry us—we must have been there for about 2 hours.

In a nutshell, I thought I had died and gone to teashop heaven…

Prone to magpie tendencies, I enjoy nothing more than musing – in pictures and in words – on a few of my favourite things.

what do you think?
